Pre-Teen Moments

It started as a normal day of taking my kids, girl 11 and boy 13 clothes shopping. My daughter came home from school and found an unused tampon on the bus. Normal for a curious mind and she asked how do you use it. While explaining the difference in femine products and driving to take her training bra shopping too she was so upset that girls have periods.

"It's not fair" is all I heard for 20 minutes in the car. Not being able to escape her questions, we pulled in to the mall. She has now been asking if girls have periods and boys don't what do boys get? She would say it over and over with the hope she would just drop it but my hopes were crushed.

Then, her 13 year old brother finally screamed, "We have wet dreams"!

"What's that?", she asked.

Oh how I love my son. I told my daughter if she got into this store and do the shopping I need her to do, I would tell her at dinner.

Dinner approaches and she forgot. Oh, the joys of parenting!
